Heat pump Installation
This solution reduced the client’s electricity bill by up to 45%, and he now has a more consistent supply of hot water.
Heat pump Installation
Situation
The client moved from Polokwane to Cape Town and faced extremely high electricity bills due to having two geysers in the house. He was searching for energy-saving solutions to help reduce these costs.
Solution
We recommended the installation of a 500-liter water tank with a 6.3 kW heat pump. Since the client already had solar PV panels on the roof, they could supply enough electricity to power the heat pump, which has a much smaller load compared to the geysers. We installed the 6.3 kW heat pump, which only consumes about 1.5 kW per hour.
Result
This solution reduced the client’s electricity bill by up to 45%, and he now has a more consistent supply of hot water.
